Carriage Rides and Magnolia Leaves

While visiting Charleston this weekend, we happened on a beautiful church (The Circular Church). I fell in love with the wreaths on the doors, the groomsmen were having pictures in the courtyard. After our play we happened on the bride and groom taking a carriage ride through the city streets. We had passed a number of people walking to the church all dressed in their finery. One of the many things I love about this southern city; carriage rides, magnolias, cobblestone streets, churches and nary a t-shirt shop in sight.

Vera Bradley Sunglasses

Who knew? Not me! Imagine my surprise during the annual visit to the eye doctor. There sitting on the shelf are several pairs of Vera sunglasses. And who needed new sunglasses? (Thank you Hunter for sharpening your first tooth on my sunglasses) Polarized lenses and everything. They even came with the Vera glass case. I was a happy woman. A flurry of texting followed to share my happiness. Erinn went immediately online and low and behold they make other glasses frames as well. What a day for the southern woman. And people think Sarah Palin looks good in her glasses!

Oh yea, I get to wear contacts in both eyes now. I am trying out a new type of contacts and solution. Hopefully my eye problems from last fall will not repeat. The bright side if it does at least I know where to look for new frames. :-)

Dogs and Cats

$411.96 and counting. That is how much our 4 legged family members have cost us in the last 7 days. (not including food and water) Sponge went in yesterday, her blood work will be back today. Medications, perhaps? She is being tested for the kitty sugars. She has lost 4 pounds. She was not nearly as excited as Jack is when he goes to the vet. I think he scored at least 15 treats while he was there on Thursday. He is so cute when he sits on the low counter and hits the treat jar with his nose. He also has lost 4 pounds this year. I do not think this is fair as I walk just as much and I gained 4 pounds. He has kicked his vw (vanilla wafer) habit. This explains his weight loss. He is now on the 100 calorie cookie pack. He does deliver them to you from the pantry, so I guess he works for them. What a guy.
